Aubrey originally hails from Lima, Ohio. She has been involved in music for as long as she can remember. Coming from a musical family, her mother is the director of the children's choir at her church, which Aubrey began participating in as soon as she was old enough to do so. Her father would often play guitar and sing at home, and Aubrey and her brother, Adam, began to sing these songs with him. Aubrey became very active in music through school, participating not only in choir, but also playing cello in the school orchestra, and saxophone in the school band. She also studied piano throughout her childhood and adolescent life. While attending Lima Senior High School, she was lucky enough to have many opportunities to perform in both solo and ensemble settings. It was during her time in high school when she was given her first role in a musical. The musical was Pippin by Stephen Schwatrz, and the role was Berthe: Pippin's unique and lively grandmother. Aubrey had a blast with this role and was ready for more.
Upon finishing high school she began her studies at Ohio Northern University (ONU). While there she was privileged enough to work with a variety of musical styles. These styles include, but are not limited to, art song, opera, musical theater, choral, vocal jazz, and contemporary classical. It was here that Aubrey began to learn the necessity to balance her musical life and find her voice. While at ONU, she performed one of her favorite roles so far as the third lady in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. She also took part in a number of musicals, including Brigadoon, Children of Eden, and Once Upon a Mattress. She completed her Bachelors degree in voice performance in May of 2008.
She then traveled to Bowling Green State University (BGSU) to pursue her Masters degree. It was here that Aubrey met end joined the wonderful ladies of Quince and began to explore contemporary vocal music, the like of Aubrey had not encountered before.
